Everything we do, every action we perform, and all tasks we complete require energy. The energy needed to complete said labor is known as work, calculated as force exerted over distance. Simple machines provide assistance by transforming work, i.e. redirecting and adjusting its force-distance ratio. We utilize many simple and compound machines in our everyday life. The Rube Goldberg Project shall employ multiple simple machines.
